Youth2Industry College invites you to join us for an informative, free community workshop!

This workshop is open to everyone in the community, welcoming individuals from everywhere. The presentation will be conducted by the Better Health Network, a not-for-profit organisation that has been providing primary and allied health care services to the communities across south-eastern Melbourne for nearly 50 years. The focus of this session will be on youth and gambling awareness, a topic of increasing importance in our digital age.

You will learn about:

  • Types of gaming activities and their links to gambling. Understand the different types of gaming that young people engage in and how these activities can sometimes lead to gambling behaviors.
  • Skills and knowledge to help young people think critically about gambling and make informed choices. Equip yourself with strategies to help youth develop a critical mindset towards gambling. This includes enhancing their ability to make informed decisions and understand the consequences of gambling.
  • Recognising signs of gambling harm in young people. Learn to identify the warning signs that may indicate a young person is experiencing harm due to gambling. Early recognition is key to providing the necessary support and intervention.
  • Having the confidence to start conversations about gaming and gambling. Gain practical tips and confidence to initiate meaningful conversations about gaming and gambling with young people.
